Fun Fridays!
This Friday will mark our first "Fun Friday" of the season. Fun Fridays are meant to be team building activities that allow all of the members of our team to participate in some type of activity together (instead of being separated into practice groups). With that in mind, we will have a modified practice schedule on Friday so that we might try and get as many of the swimmers together as possible. Here is the schedule for this Friday:
- Groups 2 & 3 will practice from 9:00-10:15
- Group 1 will practice from 9:45-10:15
- Fun Friday activity from 10:30-11:00
Swimmers can expect to spend some time in the pool preparing for their events (Coach Gabby will probably share this with them on Friday) and maybe some silly water games. This week's fun activity will be to decorate a team banner for us to hang at the pools when we swim (it will involve painting their handprints on the banner and signing their names). We will also have donuts available for the swimmers.
Future Fun Fridays - We need your help! We are asking for parent volunteers to help us with our future Fun Fridays for the remainder of the season. We would be extremely grateful if some of our wonderful families would be willing to organize some activities for us to do. Activities do not need to be elaborate; in the past we have had activities like making posters, building boats, pool games, or tie dying. Or maybe you have a really creative team building activity that you already know of. If your activity requires materials, we can reimburse you for purchases (although please double check with us before purchasing anything). I will post a link below to a Google Document that we can use as a Sign-Up sheet for potential Fun Friday activities. If you have any questions or have a specific idea you want to run by us, please reply to this email.
