The moment everyone has been waiting for......the Volunteer sign-up for this Saturday's time trials is now OPEN! I understand that this might be most parents least favorite part about summer swim team, but in all honesty, swim meets cannot run without parent volunteers. We ask that at least one parent from each family volunteer for one shift. Although, we sometimes have families that can supply more than one family member or help with multiple shifts, which is greatly appreciated as well.

I will give a brief summary of each job below. Typically, we set shifts up based on event numbers (usually about 1/2 way through the meet we switch volunteers out). Since Time Trials will NOT have relays, halfway will be sometime during backstroke. Also, if you are a parent of an older, more experienced swimmer - you can probably assume that you will be hanging around till the end of the meet because they will be swimming all of the events.

At your earliest convenience, read over the list below and then hop into the Job Signup (in the Signup Calendar) to indicate what job you can volunteer for.

TIMER - Will use a stop watch to time swimmers. Three timers are assigned per lane. We provide the stopwatches. (Get a front row view of the action!)

CLERK of COURSE - Will help organize swimmers into their events, heats, lanes, etc. and make sure that get to the blocks for their events. There will be two people working this position at a time.

TABLE WORKER - Helps in the processing official times of swimmers. There is usually one person from each team working this position. At South Carroll, this job is located under tent overlooking pool area (Bird's eye view of the pool)

RIBBONS - Adheres labels to ribbons and sorts them by team. They gave us first shift for this, which is a steal since they probably won't even start printing labels until after first 10 events. At South Carroll, they do the ribbons in room (AC) overlooking pool area.
